Daft Apple Unity Building Tools provides editor windows, editor tools, and run-time components to allow quick, consistent configuration of building assets in a Unity project.

Features include:

  • Setting up building layers for exteriors, interiors and props.
  • Adding missing colliders to props and aligned props to the terrain.
  • Applying mesh renderer presets to buildings for exteriors, interiors and props.
  • Automatically add and configure doors, with trigger colliders and components to open and close in response to player actions.
  • Apply lighting presets to interior and exterior lights, with presets and settings for all three Unity render pipelines.
  • Manage and control all lights individually, within a building, or across all buildings in all open scenes. Turn lights on and off in response to events, such as time of day.
  • Adds trigger volumes that apply interior profile overrides and ambient audio effects muffling.
  • Optimise building meshes to reduce draw calls and shadow renderers.
  • Includes samples assets, setup scenes, and preset configuration for the fantastic 3D Forge Village Interiors and Exteriors assets.

Full and extensive documentation can be found here: https://mroshaw.github.io/unity-framework-docs/buildingtools/.

The project itself is completely free and open source.  You can find the repository with full source code here: https://github.com/mroshaw/building-tools.

You can install via the attached packages or, preferably, refer to the installation guide to install direct from the GitHub main branch.

If installing via the Itch packages, please first install the "Apple Core" package, then the "Building Tools" package.
